Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl

Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl rank amongst the best piano duos of the international music scene. Hard and diligent work gradually built up the high reputation of the Stenzls: studies in Stuttgart and Frankfurt were followed by a two-year postgraduate course with Frank Wibaut, Hamish Milne, Stephen Kovacevich and private lessons with Alfred Brendel in London.

Winners of 11 international competitions , their extensive career has taken them to almost all European countries, to North and South America, West Africa, Japan, China and Hong Kong. In 1991 they made their debut at the Salzburg Festival. They have appeared in major concert halls throughout the world since: Royal Festival Hall and Wigmore Hall London, Merkin Concert Hall New York, Lincoln Theatre Miami, Suntory Hall Tokyo, Cultural Centre Hong Kong, Philharmonic Hall Guangzhou, Philharmonie Berlin, Frauenkirche Dresden, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Philharmonie Köln, Herkulessaal and Gasteig München, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Salle Gaveau Paris, Stefaniensaal Graz, Philharmonic Hall Bratislava, Ateneul Bucharest, Kolarac and Philharmonic Hall Belgrade, Opera House Kairo, Opera House Alexandria, Teatro Teresa Careno Caracas, Manoel Theatre Malta and many more. 

In January 2009, Gustavo Dudamel invited them to Caracas to perform Mendelssohn E major Double Concerto with him and his Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra. In December 2010 they made their first Russian tour, playing recitals in Moscow (International House of Music), St. Petersburg (Conservatory Rimski-Korsakow), Nischnij-Novgorod (Philharmonic Hall) and Arhangelsk (Organ Hall). In April 2011 they wound up the "German Week" in St. Petersburg as official representatives with a two piano recital. In May 2011 they inaugurated the new Musikfest Cafe of the ArtsQuest Centre in Bethlehem/USA. Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl give masterclasses in many countries and serve on the juries of renowned national and international music competitions.
