Josu De Solaun

A native of Valencia, Spain, he is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in New York, from which he holds a Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate in Musical Arts. As a First Prize winner of both the XV José Iturbi International Piano Competition and the I European Union Piano Competition held in Prague, pianist Josu De Solaun has been invited to perform in distinguished concert series throughout the world, having made notable appearances in Washington D. C. (Kennedy Center), New York (Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall), Princeton (Taplin Auditorium), London (Southbank Centre), Paris (Salle Cortot), Leipzig (Schuman Haus), Taipei (Novel Hall), Mexico City (Sala Silvestre Revueltas), Prague (Nostitz Palace), Rome (Academia de España), Menton (Festival International de Musique), and all major cities of Spain.




Since a young age, he has performed in Canada, Germany, Japan, China, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, Chile, and Switzerland, as a recitalist, chamber musician, and concerto soloist, playing under conductors such as Yaron Traub, Max Bragado, Theodore Kuchar, Francesco Angelico, Ormsby Wilkins, Constantine Orbelian, Ramón Tébar, Yuri Krasnapolsky, and Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez among others, as well with orchestras such as the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Monterey Symphony Orchestra, Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, Valencia Philharmonic Orchestra, American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, Spain's Radio and Television Orchestra (RTVE), and Bari Philharmonic Orchestra of Italy. His performances have been broadcast on Spanish national radio, Czech national television, as well as on New York's WQXR and Princeton's WPRB radio stations.
