Steinway & Sons has announced that Sales of Boston and Essex pianos accounted for 21% of its piano division revenue and 74% of piano unit sales in 2012. Knowing that Steinway & Sons sold 2001 Gand Pianos in 2012 everyone can do the math and calculate how many pianos from "Family of Steinway-Designed Pianos" were sold last year. The Boston pianos are made in Japan and Indonesia by Kawai. The Essex pianos are made in China by Pearl River.
